The Beutiful and impressive Parks of Madrid
Casa de Campo
Casa de Campo is a huge park located on the right coast of the river Manzanares but there is also the opportunity to go by cable car if you happen to be near Paseo de Pintor Rosales. If you are going by metro, the nearest stations are Batan and Lago. This is a great place for families with children. Here you can hire a boat or just have fun in the zoo or the amusement park.
Jardín Botánico
The Jardin Botanico is located on the Square of Murillo and it has a really impressive botanical garden with more than 30 thousand different species. There really aren’t many botanical gardens with such a wide range of species. You can get there from the Prado Museum which is right next to Jardin Botanico. The nearest metro station is Atocha.
Parque del Retiro
This is the largest one of all the parks in Madrid, the most popular and also possibly the most stunning. It is located on the Square of Independence (Plaza de la Independencia). There are various stone figures right in the lovely woodlands of the park and a breathtakingly beautiful lake. Here you can rent a boat. Just in the middle of the Parque del Retiro you will find two buildings which are places built for various art exhibitions. Nearest metro stations are Menendez Pelayo, Ibiza and Retiro.
Parque Quinta Funte del Berro
This park is perfect for those who want to spend some time in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It is really small and not very crowded and people love to come in here for walks or just have a nice time. There are fountains and many small paths. As it is still the capital city of Spain, it may seem surprisingly silent. If you go there by metro, the nearest station is Ventas.
Rosales and the Parque del Oeste
Rosales and the Parque del Oeste are two green zones of the city of Madrid. These are another two places perfect for children. And at the same time it is surprisingly green with its lawns, woodland, sand and the astonishing rose garden. Every year the best bloom of the garden gets an international award. Rosales and the Parque del Oeste is where you can enjoy nature or go for a walk. It is quite a popular meeting place for the locals. The nearest metro stations are Moncloa and Arguelles.
